I just painted a small table and chairs set. It had previously been painted and decoupaged. I sanded somewhat and used spray paint to cover it all. I then painted several designs on it with craft acrylic paint. It now has a matte finish to it. I'd like to use some sort of clear coat on top to shine it up a little and protect the acrylic paint designs from my boys' hands. Any suggestions of what to use that won't ruin or smear the designs?

I am a mom of two boys ages 19 months and 2 months. I am currently breastfeeding my 2 month old son and my question is this: How do I keep my 19 month old entertained or busy while I am breastfeeding? My 19 month old always wants my attention while I am nursing and he starts seeking negative attention by standing on his little table and chair set, or he'll throw toys. Sometimes he will climb on the couch and kick his feet near the baby and I have to put him on a time out because he needs to know he can't do that around the baby. I end up feeling bad for him because he looks bored and he's resorting to desperate measures to get my attention. I have tried to read to him while nursing but that only lasts a few minutes and then he wants to play. I try and sing to him and then he'll start dancing but then loses interest after a few songs. I have also put cartoons on for him while I nurse but I don't like doing that because I feel like he shouldn't be watching TV. By the end of the day, I feel like a bad mom because I am unable to give him all of my attention. Any suggestions on how to keep him busy and feeling like he has my attention???

This is an outdoor bbq and we'll have music, a cotton candy machine, hamburgers, hot dogs, soda, etc. I've borrowed a neighbor's tent and will have tables and chairs set up for them. I figured volleyball would be good and we have one of those football targets that the boys could play with at the back of the yard. I figure better safe than sorry so I'm looking for other ideas that pre-teens would find fun and not too babyish. I'd considered a bouncy house, but she said, "No thanks." LOL We want to keep them outside and busy/occupied. The party is from 5:00 until 8:00 so I only have to fill a 3 hour time frame. This is a going away party (she's going to Canada for 2 weeks this summer). Any ideas would be welcome! Thanks in advance.

I need to turn my son's plain nursury into a toddler boys room, but I;m not sure what to do. Paint isnt cheap ( I dont care what you say, an 11X12 bedroom will cost us $100 to paint), and we have a crib that converts to a toddler bed, only problem is that they no longer sell the guard rail that converts it to a toddler bed (It's target's do your room nursury crib). A friend gave us an elecric blue and yellow plastic/metal bed, (no stickers, it was spongebob I think) but I can't find any toddler rooms that seem to not look cheap/cheesey with the plastic/metal beds, or rooms that are not girly with the crib to daybed option. Plus I can't find a guard. The twin bed guards don't work with toddler mattresses Am I going to have to shell out $50+ for a wooden toddler bed, plus table+chair set ($50), toy organizer ($59), Posters ($9.99+Frames), Bedding ($40)? .. Thats $224!!!!!!..at least!! Anyone know if building the stuff is cheaper? Is it easy? I don't have a lot of tools (nor do I live by an Ikea), so buying plans won't help me very much. ANy ideas? I've tried Craigslist, consignment stores, 'goodwill stores', and none of them have any of the stuff I'm looking for. Not even a plastic table or toybox, or they have it and it's used...abused.. and $10 less then the new stuff I'm burnt out and wondering how to do this for him without shelling out $300 in cash
