potty chair question?two chairs?
my son just turned one and he got two potty chairs from my father in law. I asked why he needed two. He said that when his kids were young, he had a potty chair in the bathroom, and another in their bedroom, so if they woke up in the middle of the night they didn't have to go far. He also gave me a nightlight to go in his room, presumably by the potty chiar.
HAs anyone ever done this? Is it a good idea? I know I would have to change it every day.
I've just never heard of it before. It sounds plausible, though. THoughts?
of course the potty. nightlight's aren't disposable.

Have to change what? The nightlight? Or the potty? The nightlight, I don't think so. The potty? Yea, you clean it after every use. Otherwise... ew!
I didn't mess with having a potty in the bedroom. My reason against it, the bedroom had carpet. I do not like to clean pee and poo. I especially do not like to clean pee and poo out of carpet. The bathroom wasn't that far away.
We did have the actual potty, and the adaptor seat for the toilet. Potty to start out with, and then the seat for toilet when he wanted to be "more grown up" but still lacked the balance to keep from falling in.

my only issue with this is that my son seems to concider the potty chair something to play with while i am not looking.. this includes puttings his toys in the potty.. soo.. then i have to sanitize them.. and him if it goes too far (gross i know!) so he can not have a potty chair in a room where he isn't monitored at all times.. i understand not all peoples children think potty chairs are acceptable play things.. my daughter certainly never did.. but my boy is grossed out by nothing.. sigh.. so the potty is in the bathroom, or out where i can see him with it.
i should mention my son just turned two
