Look for one that has a "splash guard".... enough said! You'd be surprised where that pee can end up! Also, take into account if your child is tall enough to sit on the one you picked out. I picked out one w/ a guard but didn't think about his height..... I had to sit him on it for a couple of months until he was tall enough to do it on his own.
